Our Team

At North West First Responder Group, our team is made up of dedicated volunteers from all walks of life who share one common goal: to make a difference in our community when it matters most. Some volunteers are trained and equipped by North West Ambulance Service to provide life-saving care in those crucial first minutes of a medical emergency before an ambulance arrives. They are ordinary people doing extraordinary things.

But our work doesn’t stop there. We are also passionate about helping local people feel more confident in an emergency. That’s why our team delivers free CPR and defibrillator awareness sessions, giving schools, community groups, and businesses the knowledge and skills that could one day save a life.

Beyond the uniforms, our team is made up of neighbours, friends, colleagues, and family members who have chosen to give their time and skills to support others. Together, we bring compassion, professionalism, and a strong sense of community spirit to everything we do.

Josh Bailey

Chief Executive

Josh provides the strategic leadership and overall direction of the North West First Responder Group. As Chief Executive, he is responsible for leading the charity's vision, developing partnerships, overseeing governance and organisational growth, and ensuring the charity delivers on its mission to support communities through CPR & AED awareness, community public access defibrillators, CFR and volunteer development.

Working closely with the Central Charity Team, Josh oversees the charity's day to day operations, drive innovation and expansion, and represents the organisation with partners, stakeholders, emergency services, and the wider community. He is committed to building a sustainable charity that empowers volunteers, strengthens community resilience, and helps save lives across the North West.

Robin Gerrard

Chief Operating Officer

Robin provides the operational leadership of the North West First Responder Group. As Chief Operating Officer, he is responsible for overseeing the charity's day-to-day operations, ensuring services, volunteers, and projects are delivered safely, effectively, and in line with the organisation's strategic objectives.

Working closely with the Chief Executive and Central Charity Team, Robin leads operational planning, supports Area Coordinators and departmental leads, and helps drive continuous improvement across the charity. He is committed to developing volunteers, strengthening operational resilience, and ensuring the organisation delivers the highest standard of support to the communities it serves.

Jane Gerrard

Executive Support Officer

Jane provides executive and administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team, helping ensure the charity runs efficiently behind the scenes. She coordinates meetings, manages documentation, supports governance and compliance processes, and assists with a wide range of organisational tasks.

Working across multiple departments, Jane plays a key role in keeping projects on track, maintaining accurate records, and supporting effective communication throughout the charity. Her attention to detail and organisational skills help ensure NWFRG continue delivering its services across the North West.

Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. From Community First Responders attending emergencies on behalf of North West Ambulance Service, to support volunteers helping at events, fundraising activities, CPR & AED awareness sessions, and behind-the-scenes administration, every member of our team plays a vital role.
