June 2026 Newsletter – Supporting Our Communities, Saving Lives

North West First Responder Group – June 2026 Update

North West First Responder Group has continued to make a significant impact across our communities throughout May, with volunteers responding to 191 emergency incidents on behalf of North West Ambulance Service. Our Community First Responders attended 83 Category 1 and 108 Category 2 emergencies, arriving before the nearest ambulance on 115 occasions and contributing an incredible 608 volunteer response hours.

Alongside emergency response, our team attended Liscard 999 Day, providing free CPR and AED awareness demonstrations to members of the public, helping to build confidence in lifesaving skills across the community.

We were also delighted to visit SCHILLER UK, where members of our Central Leadership Team explored the latest innovations in defibrillator technology and digital monitoring systems. The visit provided valuable opportunities to discuss how emerging technology can support Community First Responders and improve public access defibrillator provision.

Preparations for our 24-Hour CPR Marathon in October are progressing at pace, with our Training Team working closely with clinicians, educators, and industry experts to develop an exciting programme of Continued Professional Development sessions that will run alongside the event.

The newsletter also highlights our partnerships with Recycling for Good Causes and A Good Thing, both of which provide innovative ways for supporters and businesses to contribute to our lifesaving work while reducing waste.

As we continue to grow across the North West, we remain grateful to our volunteers, partners, sponsors, and supporters who make our work possible every day. Together, we are helping to save lives, strengthen communities, and improve access to lifesaving education and equipment.
