New Public Access Defibrillator Installed at Tansky's Bistro, West Kirby

We're delighted to announce the installation of a new Public Access Defibrillator (PAD) outside Tansky's Bistro on South Parade, West Kirby, helping to make lifesaving equipment available to local residents and visitors 24 hours a day.

At the North West First Responder Group, we're committed to improving community resilience by increasing access to defibrillators and providing people with the confidence to act in a cardiac emergency. This latest installation is another important step towards that mission.

A Community Effort

This installation has been made possible thanks to the generosity of our local community. Every donation, no matter how large or small, has helped fund this lifesaving project, demonstrating just how much can be achieved when communities come together.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Tansky's Bistro for agreeing to host the defibrillator and provide the electricity needed to keep it rescue-ready around the clock. A huge thank you also goes to BHP Services, who generously donated their time and expertise to install the cabinet free of charge.

Why Public Access Defibrillators Matter

Every year, thousands of people experience an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. For every minute that passes without CPR and defibrillation, the chances of survival decrease significantly.

When used alongside effective CPR, a defibrillator can more than double a person's chance of survival. Having publicly accessible defibrillators in prominent community locations means that, if someone suffers a cardiac arrest nearby, the 999 call handler can direct members of the public to retrieve the nearest defibrillator while CPR is underway.

Increasing the number of publicly accessible defibrillators across our communities gives more people the opportunity to receive this vital intervention before ambulance crews arrive.
